Before your first automated trade on GoatFunded, size it properly: the lot size calculator for MT5 includes prop-firm presets with daily loss checks.

Does SignalForge work with Goat Funded?

Technically yes, on MT5: your alert fires on TradingView, the webhook lands on SignalForge, and the EA opens the order inside your own terminal. No new broker, no API keys. On the affected Goat Funded account types that terminal must run on your own computer (no VPS), and because Goat Funded bans third-party EAs you should get written confirmation from their support first - see the rules above.

What you need before starting

  • A Goat Funded MT5 account: login, password and server (see the server section below)
  • MT5 running on your own computer - VPS is prohibited on One Step, Two Step, Instant Premium and Pay Later accounts purchased from 12 August 2026
  • Written confirmation from Goat Funded Trader support that a bridge EA is allowed on your account type
  • A TradingView plan with webhook alerts (paid plan)
  • A SignalForge account: 14-day free trial, no card. After the trial, Starter is $4.99/mo for 1 account and Trader $14.99/mo for 3 accounts

Step-by-step setup

  1. Create your SignalForge account and copy your webhook URL from the dashboard.
  2. Log in to Goat Funded in MT5 (File, Login to Trade Account) with the login, password and server from your Goat Funded dashboard or the credentials email.
  3. Register the same login and server in SignalForge, written exactly as MT5 shows it, spaces and numbers included.
  4. Install the SignalForge EA on the MT5 terminal on your own computer, drag it onto any chart and switch Algo Trading on.
  5. Create the TradingView alert with your webhook URL and a JSON message like this one, using the symbol name from your Market Watch:
{
  "action": "buy",
  "symbol": "EURUSD",
  "lot": 0.01
}
  1. Fire a test alert on a demo account and confirm the order appears in MT5 before you go live.

Goat Funded Trader MT5 servers: GoatFunded-Server and GoatFunded-Server2 (verified 4 October 2026)

Goat Funded Trader's help center names two MT5 servers, both in the context of its view-only spread-test account (checked 4 October 2026):

ServerServer linkOfficial source
GoatFunded-Servermt5-1.goatfundedtrader.comWhat instruments can I trade?
GoatFunded-Server2mt5-2.goatfundedtrader.comIndustry-Leading Trading Conditions

If you searched for "goatfunded-server2": it is one of Goat Funded Trader's own MT5 servers. Your challenge or funded account may sit on another one: Goat Funded Trader says each account has its own server and that using a previous account's server is the most common login mistake. Your credentials, server included, are in your Goat Funded dashboard and in the email sent to your registered address (When will I receive my credentials?). Register that server in SignalForge exactly as MT5 shows it.

Symbol names on Goat Funded

Copy symbols exactly as your Market Watch shows them (Ctrl+M; right-click and Show All if one is missing). Forex and gold usually match TradingView (EURUSD, XAUUSD), but suffixes depend on the account type and index names vary the most between brokers. Check your own list instead of copying a name from another account.

Common errors with Goat Funded (and how to fix them)

These are generic MT5 problems that also apply to Goat Funded accounts; each one links to the full fix.

  • Symbol not found or wrong instrument. Goat Funded may name a symbol differently from TradingView (a suffix such as .a, .pro or m, or another index name). The SignalForge EA resolves common suffixes by itself (.a .b .i .pro .raw .std .stp m pro # and partial matches) and maps GOLD to XAUUSD and SILVER to XAGUSD. If your broker calls gold GOLD while the alert sends XAUUSD, ask our support for a per-account alias. Checklist: wrong symbol, lot size or account in MT5.
  • Same lot, different exposure on gold and indices. Contract sizes for XAUUSD and index CFDs differ between brokers and account types, so 1.00 lot is not the same risk everywhere. Check the contract size in Market Watch (right-click the symbol, Specification) before going live. In fixed-lot mode the EA ignores the lot sent in the alert.
  • The alert fired but no trade opened. Usually Algo Trading is off, the EA is not attached to a chart, or the login and server registered in SignalForge do not match the terminal. Step by step: TradingView webhook not executing in MT5.
  • "No connection" or "Invalid account" in MT5. The login is going to the wrong server, or the demo account has expired. Log in again with the exact server from your Goat Funded dashboard or the credentials email; an expired demo needs a new demo account. What happens to alerts while MT5 is offline: MT5 restart: open trades and alerts.
  • Error 4756 in the Journal. The trade request could not be sent: invalid stops, a volume outside the symbol limits or not enough margin. Diagnosis: MT5 error 4756.

FAQ

  1. Which server do I select in MT5 for Goat Funded? The one in your Goat Funded dashboard or credentials email: each account has its own server. The help center names GoatFunded-Server (mt5-1.goatfundedtrader.com) and GoatFunded-Server2 (mt5-2.goatfundedtrader.com) (verified 4 October 2026).
  2. Can I use a VPS or SFCloud with Goat Funded? Not on One Step, Two Step, Instant Premium or Pay Later accounts purchased from 12 August 2026: Goat Funded Trader prohibits VPS on them (verified 4 October 2026). Run MT5 on your own computer; SFCloud is a hosted MT5, so it counts as a VPS for this rule.
  3. Is the SignalForge EA allowed on Goat Funded? It is a grey zone at best. Goat Funded Trader bans third-party EAs and trade duplication between evaluation and funded accounts (verified 4 October 2026). The SignalForge EA executes your own TradingView alerts, but ask their support for written confirmation before you trade live.
  4. Does it work on a Goat Funded demo account? Yes. Demo and live use the same setup: register the demo login and the demo server exactly as MT5 shows them.
  5. Does SignalForge enforce the prop firm loss limits? Partly. Prop Firm Shield (Trader plan and above) enforces a daily loss limit in $ or % and a profit target: it closes positions (it does not cancel pending orders) and re-arms at 00:00 broker time. It does not enforce a maximum total drawdown, so keep an eye on that one yourself.
  6. How much does it cost? Starter $4.99/mo (1 account) and Trader $14.99/mo (3 accounts, Prop Firm Shield and filters). Both start with a 14-day free trial without a card.
