NEWS FILTER · PROP FIRM TRADING

Never trade into NFP again.

One NFP spike can eat a week of gains, or a challenge. The news filter blocks your EA around high-impact releases (NFP, FOMC, CPI and other red-folder events) automatically, and while paused it can close opposite positions instead of opening new ones.

What it does while the room is loud

Two behaviours, both configurable from the dashboard:

01

Blocks new entries

While a high-impact window is active, incoming signals do not open trades. Your strategy’s logic stays yours; the filter just refuses to pull the trigger into the spike.

02

Closes opposite positions

With the default close-opposite behaviour, a signal that arrives during a blocked window closes the opposite exposure without opening anything new, taking you flat into the number instead of doubling down into it.

03

Works with the Shield

News pauses stack with the Prop Firm Shield: drawdown guardrails plus news windows together, the two ways automated challenges actually die.

Frequently asked questions

While a high-impact economic release window is active, the filter blocks the expert advisor from opening new trades. Signals that arrive inside the window are not executed into the spike.
High-impact releases on the economic calendar: the classics being NFP, FOMC rate decisions and CPI prints, plus other red-folder events.
By default, an incoming signal during a blocked window closes opposite positions but does not open a new trade. You can change this behaviour from the dashboard (the close-opposite toggle).
The news filter is included in the Trader plan ($14.99/mo) together with the Prop Firm Shield, and will be part of Pro. The 14-day free trial lets you test it.
For the events the filter covers, no: the pause is automatic. It is still good practice to know your firm’s specific news-trading rules and verify them against your own configuration.
