Does SignalForge work with IC Markets?
Yes, with any IC Markets MT5 account, demo or live.
SignalForge is a bridge between TradingView and the MetaTrader 5 terminal you control: your alert fires on TradingView, the webhook lands on SignalForge and our EA opens the order inside your own MT5, logged into your IC Markets account. Median time from webhook to confirmed order was about 0.5 s in our 19-23 September 2026 measurements. No API keys, no change of broker. MT5 only: MT4 is not supported.
IC Markets MT5 server names (verified 4 October 2026)
| Server | Official IC Markets web terminal | Type |
|---|---|---|
ICMarketsSC-MT5 | mt5.icmarkets.com/terminal | Live |
ICMarketsSC-MT5-2 | mt5-2.icmarkets.com/terminal | Live |
ICMarketsSC-MT5-3 | mt5-3.icmarkets.com/terminal | Live |
ICMarketsSC-MT5-4 | mt5-4.icmarkets.com/terminal | Live |
ICMarketsSC-MT5-6 | mt5-6.icmarkets.com/terminal | Live |
ICMarketsSC-Demo | mt5-demo.icmarkets.com/terminal | Demo |
Each name is the default server of one of IC Markets' official MT5 web terminals (broker: Raw Trading Ltd, IC Markets' Seychelles entity), checked on 4 October 2026. Accounts opened with other IC Markets entities may use other servers: the one that counts is the server in your credentials email. If it does not appear in MT5, open File > Open an Account, search for Raw Trading Ltd and pick it from the list.
Step by step: TradingView alerts to your IC Markets MT5 account
You need: an MT5 account with IC Markets, a TradingView plan that includes webhook alerts (a paid plan) and a SignalForge account (14-day free trial, no card).
- Create your SignalForge account and copy your webhook URL from the dashboard. It is unique to you: treat it like a password.
- Register your IC Markets account in the dashboard: MT5 login plus the exact server string (for example
ICMarketsSC-MT5-3). Copy it from your terminal, character by character. - Install the SignalForge EA in MT5, drag it onto any chart and switch Algo Trading on (the button must be green).
- Create the alert in TradingView, paste your webhook URL and use a JSON message with the symbol name from your Market Watch:
{
"symbol": "XAUUSD",
"action": "buy",
"lot": 0.1
}
- Fire a test alert with a minimum lot and check that the order appears in MT5 and in the SignalForge log.
- Done: every alert now executes on your IC Markets account while MT5 is running.
The lot field is lot (singular). If you set the EA to fixed-lot mode, the lot of the alert is ignored and the EA uses your fixed size.
IC Markets symbols
| Symbol | Instrument | What to check |
|---|---|---|
XAUUSD | Gold | Contract size differs from forex: check Specification |
EURUSD | Euro / US dollar | Copy the exact name from Market Watch |
US30 | Dow Jones | Index CFD: check contract size and trading hours |
US500 | S&P 500 | Index CFD: check contract size and trading hours |
BTCUSD | Bitcoin | Crypto CFD: check contract size |
Names depend on the account type, so copy them from your Market Watch (Ctrl+M). The EA resolves common suffixes by itself (.a, .b, .i, .pro, .raw, .std, .stp, m, pro, #) and partial matches, so XAUUSD in the alert still finds XAUUSDm. The server also maps GOLD to XAUUSD and SILVER to XAGUSD; if your IC Markets account really names gold GOLD, ask support for an alias on that account.
Common errors with IC Markets MT5 (and fixes)
- "Invalid account" at login. The server does not match:
ICMarketsSC-MT5andICMarketsSC-MT5-3are different servers. Copy the exact name from your email. - The alert arrives but no trade opens. Usually Algo Trading is off, the EA is not on a chart, or the login/server registered in SignalForge does not match the account logged into MT5. Step-by-step check: TradingView webhook not executing in MT5.
- Wrong symbol or wrong lot size. Gold, indices and crypto have different contract sizes from forex, so the same
lotmeans a different exposure. Check the symbol Specification in MT5 and read wrong symbol, lot size or account in MT5. - Error 4756 in the Journal. The trade request was rejected: invalid stops, invalid volume, not enough margin or trading disabled on that symbol. Diagnosis: MT5 error 4756.
- MT5 closed, PC off or terminal restarted. Alerts that arrive while the terminal is down do not execute, and stale signals expire. What happens to open trades: MT5 restart and your alerts.
Prop firm accounts on IC Markets
Some prop firms run their accounts on a broker's MT5 servers. The setup is the same, but check your prop firm's rules on third-party EAs before you start. On the Trader plan and above, Prop Firm Shield enforces a daily loss limit ($ or %) and a profit target: it closes open positions (it does not cancel pending orders) and re-arms at 00:00 broker time. It does not enforce a maximum total drawdown, so keep track of that limit yourself. The news filter (Trader and above) pauses trading 30/15 min around high-impact ForexFactory events.
FAQ
- Which IC Markets server do I select in MT5? The one in your IC Markets credentials email. IC Markets' official MT5 web terminals use
ICMarketsSC-MT5,ICMarketsSC-MT5-2,ICMarketsSC-MT5-3,ICMarketsSC-MT5-4andICMarketsSC-MT5-6for live accounts andICMarketsSC-Demofor demo (checked 4 October 2026). If yours is not listed in MT5, open File, then Open an Account, and search for Raw Trading Ltd. - Does it work on an IC Markets demo account? Yes. Demo and live use the same setup: register the demo login with
ICMarketsSC-Demo(or the server in your email) in SignalForge. - Can I trade gold (XAUUSD) through TradingView alerts? Yes. Send the symbol name from your Market Watch; the EA also resolves common suffixes. Check the contract size of gold in the symbol Specification before choosing the lot, because it is not the same as a forex pair.
- Do I need a VPS? No. The EA runs inside your own MT5 terminal, which has to stay open for alerts to execute. If you want it running with your PC off, SFCloud runs it for you in a hosted MT5 (UK and France): $9.99/month with the Starter bridge (Starter + SFCloud). Standalone SFCloud ($6.99/month) is an always-on MT5 in the cloud for manual trading; it does not include the bridge, so it does not execute TradingView alerts.
- What if my prop firm account runs on IC Markets servers? The setup is identical. Prop Firm Shield (Trader plan and above) adds a daily loss limit and a profit target; it does not enforce a maximum total drawdown. Check your prop firm's own rules on third-party EAs first.
