Which Exness MT5 server is mine?

Server names such as Exness-MT5Trial15, Exness-MT5Trial16, Exness-MT5Trial17 or Exness-MT5Real37 are just the server your account was placed on. What Exness's help centre says (checked on 4 October 2026):

  • Trading accounts are assigned to a server at random, the server cannot be changed and there is no way to ensure a specific one (Available trading servers).
  • Your server and MT5 login appear at the bottom of the account card in your Personal Area: Trading, then Accounts, then expand the card (Trading account login and server details).
  • The account list shows a Real or Demo tag next to each account number ("Invalid Account" error). Use that tag, not the server name, to know which one you are on.

Exness does not publish a list of server numbers in its help centre, so we do not list any here: we could not verify them in an official source. Copy yours from the Personal Area.

How to log in to MT5 with your Exness account

  1. Install MT5. Exness states that, since 1 July 2025, only MetaTrader 5 build 4755 or later can connect to its servers.
  2. Open File > Login to Trade Account and enter the login, trading password and server from your Personal Area. The default accounts created at registration use your Personal Area password.
  3. If you cannot find the server, open File > Open an Account, search for Exness, select Exness Technologies Ltd, choose your server and click Finish (MT5 trading guide).

Does SignalForge work with Exness?

SignalForge is a bridge between TradingView and the MetaTrader 5 terminal you control: your alert fires on TradingView, the webhook lands on SignalForge and our EA opens the order inside your own MT5, logged into your Exness account. Median time from webhook to confirmed order was about 0.5 s in our 19-23 September 2026 measurements. No API keys, no change of broker. MT5 only: MT4 is not supported.

Step by step: TradingView alerts to your Exness MT5 account

You need: an MT5 account with Exness, a TradingView plan that includes webhook alerts (a paid plan) and a SignalForge account (14-day free trial, no card).

  1. Create your SignalForge account and copy your webhook URL from the dashboard. It is unique to you: treat it like a password.
  2. Register your Exness account in the dashboard: MT5 login plus the exact server string (for example the one shown in your Personal Area). Copy it from your terminal, character by character.
  3. Install the SignalForge EA in MT5, drag it onto any chart and switch Algo Trading on (the button must be green).
  4. Create the alert in TradingView, paste your webhook URL and use a JSON message with the symbol name from your Market Watch:
{
  "symbol": "XAUUSD",
  "action": "buy",
  "lot": 0.1
}
  1. Fire a test alert with a minimum lot and check that the order appears in MT5 and in the SignalForge log.
  2. Done: every alert now executes on your Exness account while MT5 is running.

The lot field is lot (singular). If you set the EA to fixed-lot mode, the lot of the alert is ignored and the EA uses your fixed size.

Exness symbols

SymbolInstrumentWhat to check
XAUUSDGoldMay carry a suffix (e.g. XAUUSDm) depending on account type
EURUSDEuro / US dollarSame: copy the exact name from Market Watch
USDJPYUS dollar / yenSame: copy the exact name from Market Watch
US30Dow JonesIndex CFD: check contract size and trading hours
US500S&P 500Index CFD: check contract size and trading hours
BTCUSDBitcoinCrypto CFD: check contract size

Names depend on the account type, so copy them from your Market Watch (Ctrl+M). The EA resolves common suffixes by itself (.a, .b, .i, .pro, .raw, .std, .stp, m, pro, #) and partial matches, so XAUUSD in the alert still finds XAUUSDm. The server also maps GOLD to XAUUSD and SILVER to XAGUSD; if your Exness account really names gold GOLD, ask support for an alias on that account.

Common errors with Exness MT5 (and fixes)

  • "Invalid account" or "Authorization failed". Wrong login, trading password or server, or an MT4 account used in MT5. Copy the server from the account card and reset the trading password there if needed (why can't I log in).
  • "No connection" in the corner of MT5. Exness suggests clicking the connection bar and choosing Rescan servers, checking your internet and adding the terminal to your firewall and antivirus exceptions. An outdated MT5 build will not connect either.
  • An old demo stops working. Exness deletes inactive demo accounts and they cannot be reactivated (real and demo accounts): open a new demo and register it again in SignalForge.
  • The alert arrives but no trade opens. Usually Algo Trading is off, the EA is not on a chart, or the login/server registered in SignalForge does not match the account logged into MT5. Step-by-step check: TradingView webhook not executing in MT5.
  • Wrong symbol or wrong lot size. Gold, indices and crypto have different contract sizes from forex, so the same lot means a different exposure. Check the symbol Specification in MT5 and read wrong symbol, lot size or account in MT5.
  • Error 4756 in the Journal. The trade request was rejected: invalid stops, invalid volume, not enough margin or trading disabled on that symbol. Diagnosis: MT5 error 4756.
  • MT5 closed, PC off or terminal restarted. Alerts that arrive while the terminal is down do not execute, and stale signals expire. What happens to open trades: MT5 restart and your alerts.

Prop firm accounts

If you trade a prop firm account on MT5, the setup is the same. On the Trader plan and above, Prop Firm Shield enforces a daily loss limit ($ or %) and a profit target: it closes open positions (it does not cancel pending orders) and re-arms at 00:00 broker time. It does not enforce a maximum total drawdown, so keep track of that limit yourself. The news filter (Trader and above) pauses trading 30/15 min around high-impact ForexFactory events.

FAQ

  1. What are Exness-MT5Trial15, Exness-MT5Trial17 or Exness-MT5Real37? They are names of Exness MT5 servers. Exness assigns each trading account to a server at random and the server cannot be changed, so the number only tells you where your account lives. Exness does not publish a list of those numbers in its help centre, so we do not list them; whether your account is demo or real is shown by the Real or Demo tag in your Personal Area, not by the name.
  2. Where do I find my Exness MT5 server? In your Personal Area: open Trading, then Accounts, and expand the account card. The server and the MT5 login are shown at the bottom of the card.
  3. My server is not in the MT5 list. What do I do? In MT5 open File, then Open an Account, search for Exness, select Exness Technologies Ltd, choose the server shown in your Personal Area and click Finish. Then log in with File, Login to Trade Account.
  4. Can I change my Exness server? No. Exness says the server assigned to a trading account cannot be changed. A new account gets a server at random too, with no way to choose it.
  5. Does SignalForge work on an Exness demo account? Yes, demo and real use the same setup. Exness deletes inactive demo accounts and they cannot be reactivated, so if an old demo stops logging in, open a new one and register the new login and server in SignalForge.
  6. Do I need a VPS? No. The EA runs inside your own MT5 terminal, which has to stay open for alerts to execute. If you want it running with your PC off, SFCloud runs it for you in a hosted MT5 (UK and France): $9.99/month with the Starter bridge (Starter + SFCloud). Standalone SFCloud ($6.99/month) is an always-on MT5 in the cloud for manual trading; it does not include the bridge, so it does not execute TradingView alerts.
