MQL5 VPS vs SFCloud: MetaTrader VPS or hosted MT5?
Every MetaTrader 5 has a VPS button: MetaQuotes' own virtual hosting, from $10 a month. SFCloud is ours: MT5 hosted in the cloud with the TradingView bridge built in. Both solve the same problem, a terminal that keeps running while your computer is off, in very different ways. Prices checked on September 23, 2026.
Two products, two ways to stay online.
A MIRROR OF YOUR TERMINAL VERSUS A TERMINAL YOU OPEN IN THE BROWSER.
MQL5 VPS — MetaQuotes' built-in hosting
You rent it from inside MetaTrader: pick the server closest to your broker and migrate. Migration copies the EAs running on your charts, their settings, your WebRequest allow-list and your signal subscriptions to a virtual terminal that runs 24/7. There is no desktop to log into: you change things in the MT5 on your own computer and synchronise again. $15 for one month, $13/mo for three, $10.83/mo for six and $10/mo for twelve, with a 24-hour free trial (mql5.com/en/vps, checked 2026-09-23). DLLs are not allowed on the virtual terminal; WebRequest is, if you enable it and list the URLs before migrating.
SFCloud — a full MT5 you open in the browser
SFCloud is a managed MetaTrader 5 in the cloud: we run the machine, MT5 comes pre-installed with the SignalForge EA on the bridge bundles, and you open the real terminal from a desktop browser over HTTPS (on a phone it works for quick checks), with no local MetaTrader and no PC left on. Your TradingView alerts reach it through the SignalForge bridge. New customers pay $9.99/mo for Starter + SFCloud (bridge + one hosted MT5 terminal) or $19.99/mo for Trader + SFCloud (three terminals); SFCloud on its own is $6.99/mo for one terminal for manual trading, bridge not included. Month-to-month, in data centres in the United Kingdom and France. EAs from the MQL5 Market do not run on it today.

FAIRNESS FIRST
Where the MQL5 VPS genuinely wins.
- Rented and migrated from inside MT4 or MT5, on a server picked for your broker
- MetaQuotes says 96% of broker servers are reachable in under 10 ms from its hosting
- EAs bought or rented on the MQL5 Market run there and keep working after migration without using activations; SFCloud runs only the SignalForge EA
- $10/mo if you prepay twelve months, with a 24-hour free trial
- Paid plans migrate up to 32 charts with EAs running
- Runs your signal subscriptions too, not just EAs
If your setup is a collection of Market EAs and signal subscriptions, and you have a computer to migrate and sync from, the MQL5 VPS is the natural fit. We would say the same on Telegram.
THE OTHER SIDE
Where SFCloud wins.
No local MT5 at any point. The MQL5 VPS mirrors a terminal that lives on your computer: you need a local MT5 to set things up, migrate and re-sync every change. SFCloud is set up from a desktop browser, even on a Mac with no MetaTrader installed.
You see the real terminal. SFCloud opens the full MT5 in a browser tab: charts, positions, journal. The MQL5 virtual terminal has no desktop to open.
TradingView is built in. A VPS keeps MT5 alive but does not receive TradingView alerts; the SFCloud bundles come with the SignalForge bridge already wired to your terminal.
Month-to-month price. $9.99/mo buys the bridge and a hosted terminal, against $15 for a single month of MQL5 hosting without a bridge. The MQL5 VPS only gets to $10/mo if you prepay a full year.
The honest limits: SFCloud is MetaTrader 5 only, runs in data centres in the United Kingdom and France rather than MetaQuotes' broker-side network, and is built for TradingView-to-MT5 automation with our EA. It runs the SignalForge EA only: other EAs, your own or bought or rented on the MQL5 Market, are not supported today, so if you depend on them, the MQL5 VPS is the right tool.
THE THIRD OPTION
Already on the MQL5 VPS? Test it there.
The SignalForge EA uses no DLLs, so it meets MetaQuotes' main hosting rule. Before migrating, enable WebRequest in your local MT5 and add the addresses listed in our setup guide. We have not certified SignalForge on MetaQuotes' hosting yet, so use their 24-hour trial to check that your alerts execute before you pay for it. The Starter plan is $4.99/mo with a 14-day free trial and no card.
Verdict by trader type.
DECISION IN ONE LINE EACH
Alert-driven strategies are rarely latency-sensitive: what breaks them is a terminal that is off. Choose on how you want to manage the terminal (from your own PC, or from a desktop browser) before you choose on milliseconds. Current SFCloud numbers live on the pricing page.
