FXVM vs SFCloud: trading VPS or hosted MT5?
FXVM is one of the best-rated trading VPS providers around: 4.9 on Trustpilot from about 4,000 reviews. SFCloud is ours, and it is not a VPS: it is MetaTrader 5 hosted for you, and its bundles come with the TradingView bridge already wired in. Here is what each one costs (checked on September 23, 2026), where FXVM genuinely wins, and how to tell which one your setup needs.
Two products, two different jobs.
ONE RENTS YOU A WINDOWS SERVER. THE OTHER RUNS MT5 FOR YOU.
FXVM — the well-rated trading VPS
FXVM rents Windows Server machines built for traders: MT4, MT5, cTrader and NinjaTrader, a dedicated IP, automatic backups, 24/7 support and a 100% uptime guarantee. You connect over Remote Desktop, install your platforms and EAs, and the box is yours to run. Entry is the Virtual Desktop at €14/mo (2 cores, 3 GB RAM, one trading platform); the VPS range goes from Lite at €22/mo (1-2 terminals) to Advanced at €44/mo (4-6 terminals). You can try it for €1 for 7 days, and every plan carries a 7-day money-back guarantee (fxvm.net, checked 2026-09-23).
SFCloud — MT5 hosted for you, with bridge bundles
SFCloud is a managed MetaTrader 5 in the cloud: we look after the machine, MT5 comes pre-installed (with the SignalForge EA on the Starter and Trader bundles), and you open your terminal from a desktop browser (a Mac included; on a phone or tablet it works for quick checks), with no Remote Desktop client. Your TradingView alerts reach it through the SignalForge bridge. New customers pay $9.99/mo for Starter + SFCloud (bridge + one hosted MT5 terminal) or $19.99/mo for Trader + SFCloud (three terminals); SFCloud on its own, for manual trading without the bridge, is $6.99/mo. Month-to-month, cancel anytime, data centres in the United Kingdom and France.
THE NUMBERS
Side by side (checked September 23, 2026).
FXVM figures are the list prices in euros published on fxvm.net on 2026-09-23 (a 15% discount code is advertised on their site); they cover the machine only, with no TradingView bridge. SignalForge prices are in US dollars, from our pricing page. Vendors change prices, so check before you buy. FAIRNESS FIRST
Where FXVM genuinely wins.
- Run MT4, MT5, cTrader and NinjaTrader, trade copiers and your own tools on one server
- The Advanced plan is sized for 4-6 terminals; every plan has a dedicated IP and automatic backups
- SFCloud runs MetaTrader 5 only, does not run MQL5 Market EAs yet and is not a general-purpose Windows desktop
- Data centres in London, Amsterdam, New York and Singapore, plus an extended network that includes Frankfurt, Tokyo, Sydney and Hong Kong, and a broker-latency check on their site
- €1 for a 7-day trial and a 7-day money-back guarantee; SFCloud has no trial and is paid from day one (our 14-day no-card trial covers only the Starter and Trader bridge plans)
- 4.9 on Trustpilot from about 4,000 reviews
If you run MQL5 Market EAs, EAs that need Windows DLLs, several third-party EAs, MT4, cTrader or NinjaTrader, or you want a server parked next to one specific broker, buy the VPS. A single-purpose managed MT5 is the wrong tool for that, and this page would be worthless if it pretended otherwise.
THE OTHER SIDE
Where SFCloud wins.
TradingView is built in. Most traders who search for a VPS want one thing: their TradingView alerts executing on MT5 while their computer is off. A VPS only keeps the terminal alive; you still need a bridge on top. The SFCloud bundles come with MT5 and the SignalForge bridge already wired together.
Zero admin. No Windows Server to set up, no Remote Desktop client, no updates to babysit: MT5 is pre-installed and we look after the machine and the terminal.
Price. $9.99/mo buys the bridge and a hosted terminal; FXVM's entry is €14/mo for the machine alone. A VPS sized for three or four terminals is €31/mo before any bridge, while our Trader + SFCloud bundle gives three hosted terminals plus the Trader bridge for $19.99/mo.
Browser access. Your terminal opens in a desktop browser tab: a Mac or a work laptop where you cannot install anything. On a phone or tablet it works for quick checks.
The honest limits: SFCloud is MetaTrader 5 only, does not run MQL5 Market EAs yet, runs in data centres in the United Kingdom and France rather than next to every broker, and is built for TradingView-to-MT5 automation, not as a general Windows desktop. If that is not your setup, the VPS wins.
THE THIRD OPTION
Already on FXVM? Keep it.
If you already pay for FXVM and you are happy with it, you do not need to move anything. Install the SignalForge EA in the MT5 on your VPS, paste your SignalForge webhook URL into your TradingView alert, and your alerts execute on that server. The Starter plan is $4.99/mo with a 14-day free trial and no card, and the TradingView to MT5 setup guide walks you through it step by step.
Verdict by trader type.
DECISION IN ONE LINE EACH
Alert-driven strategies are rarely latency-sensitive: a few hundred milliseconds changes nothing on a swing trade or a TradingView signal. What breaks them is the terminal being off. Buy for uptime and simplicity first; buy for microseconds only if you can name the strategy that needs them. Current SFCloud numbers live on the pricing page.
